What's a Wild Rag?
A wild rag is a scarf worn around the neck by cowboys and others involved in western heritage. Traditional wild rags are made of silk and cotton. They are worn by both cowboys and cowgirls as functional and stylish pieces of kit. The wild rag has many uses. Mostly for warmth, keep branding smoke or dust out of one's face, as a pot holder around the campfire, a tourniquet, blindfold a horse and an arm sling, or splint!
What's the difference between a wild rag and a bandana?
One may argue that a wild rag is a bandana, but not all bandanas are wild rags. Wild rags tend to be a bit larger so that they can be used in more applications.
