Create a polished leather clutch and matching wrist strap with a durable, reusable template set designed for accurate cutting, alignment, and assembly.

The Clutch & Wristlet Acrylic Template Set contains the four pattern pieces needed to make the Odin Leather Goods Elle Clutch and its coordinating wrist strap. The finished design is a versatile everyday clutch that can be carried by hand or secured with the removable wristlet.

Use the templates with a pencil, pen, scratch awl, or other marking tool to transfer the pattern to your leather. The durable acrylic edges can also be carefully used alongside sharp leather knives and cutting tools for faster, more repeatable production.

What’s Included

This four-piece acrylic template set includes the pattern components needed to create:

• The main clutch body
• The clutch flap and closure area
• The supporting construction components
• A coordinating leather wrist strap

Relevant construction notes, alignment marks, hole locations, and other pattern guidance are permanently laser-engraved directly onto the acrylic.

Recommended Leather

For an unlined clutch, we recommend approximately:

• 5/6 oz. leather

For a lined clutch, select an exterior leather and lining that create a combined finished thickness of approximately:

• 5/6 oz. total

The ideal leather weight may vary depending on its firmness, temper, lining material, edge-finishing method, and the structure you want in the finished clutch.

Vegetable-tanned leather is a strong choice for a structured clutch and can be tooled, stamped, carved, dyed, or personalized before assembly. Softer chrome-tanned leathers may also be used, but could require lining or reinforcement depending on the desired result.

The rigid template pieces help you:

• Position the pattern consistently on the hide
• See the leather grain and surface character beneath the tinted acrylic
• Avoid scars, blemishes, or undesirable sections before cutting
• Produce cleaner and more consistent component shapes
• Transfer important construction and alignment marks
• Reduce repeated measuring and pattern redrawing
• Reproduce the design for small-batch or regular workshop production

The pattern provides the construction foundation while leaving room to customize the leather, hardware, closure, wrist strap, lining, edge treatment, tooling, stamping, and decorative details.

Each Odin Leather Goods acrylic template is:

• Laser-cut from durable 1/8-inch tinted cast acrylic
• Built to withstand frequent and production-shop use
• Transparent enough to see leather grain, scars, markings, and surface variation beneath the template
• Suitable for use with pencils, pens, scratch awls, and other leather-marking tools
• Durable enough to carefully use alongside sharp leatherworking knives and cutting tools
• Permanently engraved with relevant pattern notes and construction markings
• Designed and made in Texas by working leathercrafters

Unlike disposable paper or cardstock patterns, the rigid acrylic will not easily bend, distort, or wear out after repeated use.

Acrylic Color

Due to changing material availability and supply lines, your template may be made from green-, blue-, or orange-tinted acrylic. Acrylic color is not selectable and may vary from the product photographs.

The color does not affect the template’s dimensions, durability, markings, or functionality.

Important Notes

This listing is for the acrylic template set only. Leather, hardware, tools, finished clutches, and other supplies are not included.

The acrylic may arrive with a removable protective film on one or both sides. Remove the film before using the templates.

Leather weight recommendations are intended as a starting point. Makers should adjust their material selection based on the leather’s temper, lining, hardware, construction method, and desired finished structure.
