ACRYLIC TEMPLATES & CRAFT AIDES
Leather Drink Can Wrap Acrylic Template
Create reusable leather drink-can wraps with a durable, one-piece acrylic template designed for fast layout, consistent cutting, and repeatable workshop production.
The Leather Drink Can Wrap Acrylic Template provides the primary pattern needed to make a fitted leather sleeve for compatible beverage cans. The finished wrap adds grip, helps reduce direct contact with a cold or condensation-covered can, and provides a broad surface for personalization, tooling, stamping, engraving, or branded artwork.
Its simple construction makes this an approachable project for newer leathercrafters and an efficient small good for experienced makers producing gifts, event merchandise, promotional products, or retail inventory.
Use the template with a pencil, pen, scratch awl, or another leather-marking tool to transfer the pattern onto your material. The rigid acrylic edge may also be carefully used alongside sharp leather knives, rotary cutters, or other appropriate cutting tools.
What’s Included

- One acrylic drink-can-wrap template
Relevant information is permanently laser-engraved directly onto the acrylic where applicable, including:
- Pattern orientation
- Closure or hardware locations
- Hole-punch locations and sizes
- Fold or overlap references

Review all engraved markings before cutting, punching, skiving, folding, or installing hardware.
Simple, Production-Friendly Construction
The one-piece design reduces the number of separate components that must be measured, aligned, and assembled.
Depending on the markings and the maker’s preferred construction method, the leather may be secured using:
- Snaps
- Rivets
- Studs
- Stitching
- Other suitable closures or fasteners
The straightforward format makes the wrap well suited for:
- Personal workshop projects
- Handmade gifts
- Retail inventory
- Corporate-branded merchandise
- Weddings and special events
- Festivals and vendor markets
- Customer personalization
- Small-batch production
Confirm the Can Fit Before Production
Beverage cans are available in several diameters, heights, and profiles. Before cutting multiple wraps, confirm that the template and your selected closure arrangement fit the specific can style you intend to use.
Test the completed wrap for:
- Proper circumference
- Adequate closure overlap
- Secure fit
- Easy installation and removal
- Clearance around the top and bottom rims
- Comfortable hand placement
The finished fit may also vary depending on the leather thickness, temper, skiving, hardware, and construction method.
Choosing Your Leather
Select a leather that is flexible enough to wrap around the can while remaining firm enough to retain its shape.
Suitable options may include:
- Vegetable-tanned leather
- Firm chrome-tanned leather
- Oil-tanned leather
- Pull-up leather
- Thin bridle or harness leather
- Waxed or finished full-grain leather
- Other durable medium-weight leathers
When selecting material, consider:
- The firmness and temper of the hide
- The finished thickness at overlapping areas
- The amount of stretch in the leather
- The thickness limits of the selected hardware
- Whether the edges will be burnished, painted, or left natural
- Whether the wrap may be exposed to condensation
- How easily the material can be wiped clean
Leather that is too heavy may resist wrapping or create unnecessary bulk. Leather that is too soft or stretchy may lose its shape or fit inconsistently.
Test your selected leather and hardware before beginning small-batch production.
Plan the Closure
Before installing hardware or stitching the wrap:
- Transfer all hole, overlap, and closure references.
- Confirm the template orientation.
- Wrap a test piece around the intended can.
- Verify the amount of overlap.
- Confirm the selected hardware-post length against the leather thickness.
- Skive overlapping areas where indicated or necessary.
- Test the closure before permanently setting all hardware.
Hardware dimensions can vary by manufacturer, so confirm compatibility before cutting valuable leather.
Make the Design Your Own
The broad exterior surface provides room for customization through:
- Names and initials
- Business or event logos
- Maker’s marks
- Ranch and family brands
- Hand stamping
- Tooling and carving
- Laser engraving
- Painted artwork
- Decorative stitching
- Contrasting hardware
- Burnished or painted edges
- Custom leather colors
- Commemorative dates or messages
This makes the finished wrap especially useful as a personalized gift, promotional product, event favor, or branded retail item.
Designed for Repeatable Results
The rigid acrylic template helps you:
- Maintain a consistent overall shape
- Transfer closure and hardware locations accurately
- Position the pattern efficiently on the hide
- See grain, scars, color variation, and surface character beneath the tinted acrylic
- Avoid undesirable areas before cutting
- Reduce repeated measuring and pattern redrawing
- Reproduce the wrap for gifts, events, custom orders, or regular production
Built for Daily Workshop Use
Each Odin Leather Goods acrylic template is:
- Laser-cut from durable 1/8-inch tinted cast acrylic
- Built for frequent use in hobby and production workshops
- Transparent enough to see the leather beneath the template
- Suitable for use with pencils, pens, scratch awls, and other leather-marking tools
- Durable enough to carefully use alongside sharp leatherworking knives and cutting tools
- Permanently engraved with relevant notes and construction markings
- Designed and made in Texas by working leathercrafters
Unlike paper or cardstock patterns, the rigid acrylic will not easily bend, distort, tear, or wear out through repeated use.
Acrylic Color
Due to changing material availability and supply lines, your template may be made from green-, blue-, or orange-tinted acrylic. Acrylic color is not selectable and may vary from the product photographs.
The color does not affect the template’s dimensions, durability, markings, or functionality.
Important Notes
This listing is for one acrylic template only. Leather, hardware, thread, adhesives, tools, beverage cans, finished wraps, and other supplies are not included.
A supporting build video is not currently available.
The acrylic may arrive with a removable protective film on one or both sides. Remove the film before using the template.
Confirm compatibility with the intended can before producing multiple wraps. Finished fit may vary according to the can dimensions, leather thickness, temper, amount of stretch, hardware, and assembly method.
Leather is not waterproof. Wipe away condensation and allow the finished wrap to dry naturally after use.
