Plastic fly swatters eventually crack, bend, or disappear into the back of a junk drawer. Ours was built with a different idea in mind.

Each Odin Leather Goods Fly Swatter is handcrafted in Texas using a genuine vegetable-tanned leather swatter head paired with a solid hickory hardwood handle. The result is a tool that’s genuinely useful, surprisingly durable, and good-looking enough to leave sitting on the counter, hang in the mudroom, or display on the porch between uses.

The leather head is perforated to reduce air resistance, helping it move quickly through the air while maintaining enough weight and flexibility to get the job done. Over time, the leather develops a rich patina that tells the story of years of use.

The hickory handle is handcrafted by a local Texas artisan from the same species of hardwood trusted for baseball bats, hammers, and axe handles. Every handle has its own grain pattern, knots, and character, making each fly swatter one of a kind.

To finish it off, every fly swatter includes a genuine kangaroo leather hanging tassel. Tassel color may vary in shades of brown depending on available leather.

Care

Simply wipe the leather clean with a damp cloth as needed.

For occasional conditioning, we recommend Smith’s Leather Balm or Blackrock Leather-N-Rich to help maintain the leather and enhance its natural character.

Please Note

Because every handle is made from real hickory and every leather head is cut from genuine vegetable-tanned leather, variations in grain, color, markings, and character are normal and part of what makes each piece unique.
